Australia Post Highest Ever ICC World Cup Score of 417 as Afghanistan Faces Batting Collapse

Afghanistan faced batting collapse with early loss of five wickets in its innings in a Pool A Cricket World Cup match against Australia which created history at WACA Ground Wednesday.

As per the last score .after 30 overs Afghanistan was 6-122 . Mitchel Johnson has taken highest 3 wickets .
Earlier,Co-hosts Australia pile on a mammoth 417 for 6 in 50 overs against hapless Afghanistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. They also entered the record books for posting the highest ever total in a World Cup match, the record was earlier held by India at 413 against Barmuda .

In Perth, after winning toss Afghanistan’s captain Mohammad Nabi decided to bowl first. They got an early breakthrough in the form of Aaron Finch at 14, but after that it was all down hill.

David Warner and Steve Smith stitched 260 runs for the second wicket. Warner fell at 178 and Smith followed him at 95. However onslaught from Glenn Maxwell continued and his 39 ball 88 paved way for record total of 417.

David Warner blasted the highest score of his career but missed out on the double century that was at his mercy.

Warner scorred 178 off 132 balls as he and Steve Smith set a new record for the highest Australian Partnership in One Day Cricket with 260.

Glen Maxwell crunched seven sixes in his phenomenal 88 off 39 balls but missed a fastest century by an Australian on ODI after hitting a catch to mid-off in the 48th over.

In the other match played today at Napier, a collective effort from Pakistan gave them their second victory in the World Cup.

Pakistan cruised over UAE by 129 runs. Chasing a challenging total of 340 UAE could only manage 210 for eight in 50 overs. Earlier, Pakistan had posted 339 for 6 in 50 overs against UAE.
