Azad Threatens To Reveal More Of DDCA’s Malpractices
18 December, New Delhi
Former cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirti Azad today threatened to reveal more malpractices in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), which is already under fire following the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) allegations of ”financial irregularities” against its ex-president and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Azad said he will hold a news conference at 1600 hours on Sunday to blow the lid over the alleged corruption in the city cricket body.
“My fight is not against any individual, its against the rampant corruption in DDCA and I will continue with it,” Azad said. .
Azad also dismissed reports that he has been ‘gagged’ by his party for his slamming of Jaitley, who had led the DDCA for 13 years.
”There is no truth to these reports. My fight is against corruption within the body and I have continued to raise the issue for the past eight years,” the Darbhanga MP said.
Azad’s comments came after BJP general secretary Ramlal, reportedly called him yesterday morning for a meeting, apparently to persuade him against attacking Jaitley.
Azad also said the AAP had revealed only 15 per cent of the ”irregularities” and he would complete it on Sunday by disclosing the rest.
”Whatever the AAP has revealed is just 15 per cent, come Sunday, I will expose the rest 85 per cent of what’s going on inside the DDCA,” he added.
