Azad To Move HC For Probe InTo DDCA Affairs During Jaitley’s Tenure

Suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad will move the High Court for appointing an administrator and a time-bound SIT probe into alleged irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association(DDCA) during the tenure of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the cricket body.

Mr Azad told reporters here today that he was waiting for Justice Mukul Mudgals second report , and the moment the report was filed, he will submit his petition in the court.

Justice Mudgal has already submitted a 27-page report on the alleged irregularities in the DDCA.

Mr Azad also released a letter written by him to Jaitley in September last year in which he had accused him of ”nefarious role” in the affairs of the DDCA.

”While cricket went to dogs in your regime, only your trusted friends prospered,” he had written in the letter.

The cricketer-turned politician said he had several times pointed out to Mr Jaitley the irregularities in the awarding of tenders and raised the issue at AGMs and sought answers in writings but to no avail.

In obvious insinuation at Jaitley, the suspended BJP MP said that a mysterious mail was sent to the DDCA office-bearers about re-appointing a favourite auditor and filing of a defamation case against him and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

”Like always there are outsiders in non-executive roles without any accountability who keep advising DDCA office-bearers how to run it,” he said in obvious reference to Jaitley.

The Finance Minister has denied all the charges of irregularities in the DDCA affairs, underlining that his role in the cricket body was non-executive.

He has already filed a criminal defamation suit against Mr Kejriwal and other members of the Aam Admi Party for their charges against him in connection with the DDCA affairs.
