Bangladesh PM Hasina Hails Passage Of Land Boundary Agreement Bill By India

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has hailed the passage of Land Boundary Agreement Bill by India as a new milestone in the long-standing relationship between the neighbouring countries.

Through the passage of the bill, the commitment of two great leaders Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of Bangladesh and late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been realised.

Hasina’s Press Secretary AKM Shamim Choudhury apprised reporters about her immediate reaction after passage of the bill yesterday.

The Prime Minister also said India has been a trusted friend of Bangladesh and has always stood by Bangladesh during its bad times.

Shamim Choudhury also said that Hasina congratulated the enclave people on both sides of the border, and asked her law enforcement agencies to ensure their welfare and security.

Earlier Thursday during a meeting with senior officials of the Home Ministry, Hasina described the passing of the bill as a huge diplomatic success fro Bangladesh.
