Bihar Assembly ratifies constitution amendment bill on GST

The Bihar state Assembly on Tuesday unanimously ratified the constitution amendment bill on Goods and Services Tax, GST.
The bill was moved by the Commercial Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav which was unanimously adopted by the house barring a CPI (ML) MLA.
A day long special session of Bihar state legislature was convened on Tuesday to ratify this bill.
The bill will be further introduced in the State Legislative Council in the afternoon for ratification.
Taking part in discussion Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said revenue of the state will increase after GST bill.
Kumar said the state will get share of those service taxes which were earlier collected by the central government only.
He said there will be uniform tax system and simplicity in tax.
Transparency will be in collection of various taxes and the interest of consumer state will be taken care of .
Nitish kumar said before GST bill manufacturing state was getting loins share of taxes now the consumer states will also get benefit.
