BJP does not know Bengali culture: Mamata
01 June, Kolkata
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday once again slammed the BJP for its policies.
At a public meeting at Tarakeswar near here, she said, ” The Central Government is taking away Rs 40,000 crore per year for servicing debts, leaving nothing for the State Government to spend for the development of the state. ”
Another strong complaint she had against the Centre was that it had stopped 90 per cent of the money due to the states under various schemes. ” Despite that, I am continuing with ICDS with our own funds, ” she said.
Ms Banerjee said she had tweeted during the early stages of demonetisation that GDP would fall by almost two per cent, and it has been proved true by the latest data. ” Another consequence of demonetisation is that lakhs of people have been rendered jobless due to demonetisation, ” she asserted.
While mentioning the blood donation camps that the party is organising across Bengal, she said, ” When we are organising blood donation camps, the CPI(M) and the BJP are engaging in bloodshed, hurling bombs and brandishing swords. ”
Continuing on the topic of bloodshed, Ms Banerjee said, ” They (BJP) are terrorising farmers for possessing cattle. They are inciting riots, pelting with stones. What one can eat or wear is one’s own choice, not for others to dictate. ” ” Sarva Dharma Samanyaya is our culture. But do they follow Bengali culture? Their culture is an outsider’s culture. BJP does not believe in religion. They indulge in adharma not dharma, ” she averred.
