He said, till yesterday around 6.63 crore vaccines were sent outside India. Mr Patra said, vaccines have been sent in two categories. He said, only one crore vaccines have been sent as aids and grants.
The Spokesman said, rest five crore vaccines have been sent in the form of liability. He said, India has provided 78.5 lakh vaccine doses to seven neighboring nations. Mr Patra said, two lakh doses have been given to the UN Peacekeeping Force.
He said, more than 6000 soldiers of India are deployed in UN peacekeeping operations in different countries.
Mr Patra said, the two vaccine manufacturing companies in India had taken raw materials from outside the country and there was an agreement that when the vaccine is ready, some of that vaccine will be given to those countries as well. He said, it is a commercial liability.
