BJP making demonetisation election issue

Amid support and oppose of demonetisation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to make it election issue for Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. BJP has started pasting hoardings and banners to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision of demonetisation of larger denomination notes.

Party workers are also exited with the by-poll election results held in different parts of country after demonetisation declaration.Hoardings and banners near party office here state that “Demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes is big hammering on corruption and corrupt”. Banners and holdings also have picture of PM Modi and BJP’s election symbol lotus on it.

Another poster states “Na gundaraj na brastachar, is baar BJP sarkar” (Neither criminal rule nor corruption, this time BJP government). BJP vice president and party’s Gujrat in charge Dr Dinesh Sharma said decision of demonetisation is getting huge support of public and this is reason behind panic in other parties.Dr Sharma told UNI “After demonetisation decision by-polls were held in West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and results were very encouraging. In Arunachal BJP won one seat while in West Bengal by-poll BJP gained second position.”

About Assam Sharma said “In past BJP had to struggle for wining two-four seats in Assam but BJP formed government there and in by-polls BJP won the only seat.” Mr. Sharma said results of by-polls reflect that public is in support of demonetisation.” Public wants to eliminate corruption at any cost. And as PM has said many times that honest persons should not worry about the decision but the corrupt will not be spared.”
