BJP Membership Drive Extended For Another 30 Days

On the demand from several states to extend the last date of the membership drive on March 31,

BJP president Amit Shah has extended the drive for another30 days. Now the new membership drive would end on April 30 next,announced BJP vice-president and in-charge of the membership drive Dr Dinesh Sharma here Monday .

He said party president has accepted the demand of several states to extend the drive as several lakh peopleare still interested in joining the party as they could not do so due to assembly polls, bypolls or any other reasons. Earlier, the membership drive was slated to end tomorrow, March 31.

Dr Sharma said BJP has already become the largest political party of the world by registering 8.93 crores new members till today.

He, however , claimed that 15.83 crore people who had given missed call had not been registered so far. UP and Uttarakhand have the highest number of 1.55 crore members followed by 1.01 crore in Gujarat while MadhyaPradesh and Chhattisgarh jointly have one crore new members so far.
