BJP MP Kirti Azad Demands SIT To Probe DDCA

21 December, New Delhi

Upping his ante against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the alleged DDCA scam, BJP MP Kirti Azad today demanded that a High Court monitored Special Investigation Team be constituted to probe the matter.

Talking to reporters in the Parliament complex Monday , Azad also dared Jaitley to file a defamation case against him, instead of taking the legal remedy against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, as the former Cricketer claimed that he had, in fact, raised the issue way back in 2008.

“Opposition has been saying that the CBI is a tool of the ruling party. Against this backdrop, it would be proper to constitute SIT monitored by High Court to investigate the matter,” he said, adding that he has nothing personal against Jaitley.

“He is our leader. I have nothing personal against him, but the truth about DDCA should come out,” he said.Despite party High Command’s directive to not to go public on the issue, the Darbhanga MP had convened a press conference yesterday, asking more than 50 questions putting Jaitley in dock.

The BJP MP’s attack on the Minister has come as a shot in the arm for the Aam Aadmi Party, which is training its guns on Jaitley alleging that the CBI raid on Delhi Secretariat was mainly to comb out the files related to the DDCA scam, which were under the Chief Minister’s consideration.

Azad demanded the SIT on a day when the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha was disrupted by the Opposition over the issue
