BJP retains Haryana for third consecutive term; NC- Congress Alliance secures majority with 48 seats in J& K Assembly Polls.

The counting of votes for assembly elections has completed in Jammu and Kashmir and it is in progress in Haryana.

The latest trends and results indicate that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has crossed the majority mark in 90-member Haryana Legislative Assembly. BJP has retained Haryana for the third consecutive term. While, the National Conference and Congress alliance is all set to form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir as it surpassed the halfway mark by securing 48 seats out of the 90-member Assembly.

As per the latest report from Haryana, 89 results have been announced so far. BJP has won 48 assembly seats. Congress has won 36 seats and is leading in Rohtak. Indian National Lok Dal has got two seats. Independents have won in three assembly constituencies.

Former Haryana deputy chief minister and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala has lost from Uchana Kalan constituency and finished 5th. Speaker of the outgoing Haryana Assembly Gian Chand Gupta lost to Congress candidate Chander Mohan from Panchkula assembly constituency.

Polling for the 90-member Haryana assembly took place on the 5th of October.

In Jammu and Kashmir, results for all the 90 seats have been declared.

National Conference has won 42 seats, while its alliance partner Indian National Congress has got 6 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party has bagged 29 seats.

Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party won three seats. Jammu & Kashmir People Conference, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Aam Aadmi Party have got one seat each. Independents have won seven seats in the Union Territory. Former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has won from both Budgam and Ganderbal constituencies. Peerzada Mohammad Syed of Congress has registered victory from Anantnag seat. Abdul Majeed Bhat of National Conference won Anantnag West seat. Sajjad Gani Lone of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference has registered victory in Handwara. Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami of CPI(M) has won from Kulgam Assembly constituency.

PDP leader and daughter of party Chief Mehbooba Mufti, Iltija Mufti has lost her electoral debut from Bijbehara seat in south Kashmir.

Polling for 90 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir was held in three phases on 18th and 25th of September and 1st of this month.
