Budget Session of Parliament begins Monday : Govt. is ready to discuss in any matter says Venkaiah Naidu

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu Sunday sought cooperation from party leaders in both the Houses of Parliament for smooth functioning of the Budget session.

After a meeting of leaders of all parties on the eve of the Budget session, Naidu said that the session will focus on financial matters, general budget, railway budget and the next priority will be given to legislate the Ordinances.

He said that the Government is ready to discuss any matter in Parliament, particularly those related to the Ordinances.

Naidu also said that he met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the morning and requested her to extend support to run the Parliament smoothly.

The Congress has made it clear that it will not support any anti-people legislation in the Budget session.

After the meeting, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad said, the party will not support the government on any ordinances, or bills, which are not going to help the farmers or the downtrodden.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior BJP leaders Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, TMC Leader Derek O’Brien, CPI leader D Raja were also present at the meeting.

Many party leaders have raised concerns over land acquisition, price rise, FDI in insurance, Indo-Pak border issue and corporate espionage in key ministries.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister assured all the parties that the issues raised by them will be taken up for discussion in Parliament. He added that it is the collective responsibility of all parties to ensure that the Parliament runs smoothly.
