Bus fare reduced by one paise in Odisha, further cut soon : Minister Ramesh Majhi

Odisha Government Wednesday reduced fare in all categories of Buses by one paise per Km.
The new fares will be effective from today, the Minister of state for Commerce and Transport Ramesh Chandra Majhi said indicating a further fare reduction soon .
He said that the decision to reduce bus fare was taken on the recommendation of the Technical Advisory Committee of the department basing on the Oil companies cut of diesel prices on January 16 last . “With the price of diesel being cut further by Rs.2.25 paise from mid-night Wednesday , a fresh reduction of the Bus fare is likely soon”, Majhi said.
The state government had earlier reduced the bus fare by two paise in two phases.
The passengers, who used to pay 60 paise per km in ordinary buses , will now have to pay 59 paise and 62 instead of 63 paise in Express buses. Similarly, the fare in deluxe and deluxe A/C buses will be 82 paise and Rs 1.02 paise respectively instead of 83 paise and Rs 1.02 per km,
