Canadian Media Hails Modi

The Prime Minister’s address to Indian diaspora in Toronto has been widely covered in the canadian dailies.

Toronto Star in the front page coverage writes- Modi Mania. The report says Indian Prime Minister gets a Toronto welcome worthy of a Bollywood idol.

Another daily, The Globe and Mail writes, A crowd of Indo-Canadians cheered and chanted Modi’s name as he took the stage. His speech was preceded by brief remarks from Harper, who pledged to work more closely with India..

Another Newspaper, The Star says, Thousands cheer India’s Prime Minister Modi during Toronto visit.

Local radio CBC News reports Thousands chanted “Modi, Modi, Modi” as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the stage to speak on Wednesday night in Toronto.

Modi was welcomed to the Ricoh Coliseum stage by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his wife, Laureen.

Modi and the crowd sang along with India’s anthem, and many kept singing during the Canadian anthem as well. Before beginning his speech, Modi received a lengthy standing ovation.
