CBI Grills Madan Mitra In Jail, In Connection With Multi-Crore Saradha Scam

he Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today conducted a fresh round of interrogation of arrested former state transport minister Madan Mitra in connection with the multi-crore Saradha Scam.
A three member CBI team led by Fani Bhusan Karan, an officer of Deputy Superintendent rank, went to the Alipore Central Correctional Home here, at around 1330 hours, where Mitra is lodged now.
The team interrogated the former minister for about two hours. Although the details of the interrogation is not yet known, officials said Madan has cooperated with the sleuths.
CBI had moved the Alipore court on December 21 to interrogate Mitra afresh, so to cross check the statements given by another Trinamool leader Shankudeb Panda, who was quizzed on December 14.
Granting a permission, the court had asked CBI to carry out the interrogation by December 31.
