CBI Probe Into IAS Officer’s Death If CID Report Is Found Wanting : Karnataka Govt.

The Karnataka Government Thursday has decided to continue CID probe into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi.

Speaking to media persons, Home Minister K J George informed after the Cabinet meeting that there is no change in the stance of the Government.

However, according to sources, the CID’s IGP Pronab Mohanty will not be transferred as mentioned earlier and will probe the case.

He also added that Government will consider the demand for CBI probe if CID report is found wanting.

Meanwhile, a complaint was lodged with Lokayuktha against Bengaluru city Police Commissioner M N Reddi with reference to the death of IAS officer, D K Ravi.

In the complaint, the Human Rights and Non Corruptions Committee has accused the Police Commissioner of making irresponsible statement that the death of D K Ravi, prima facie, seems like a suicide, even before postmortem was conducted.

The state President of the Committee, Girish Gowda informed that they have asked the Lokayuktha to act against the Police Commissioner and help clear doubts surrounding the mysterious death of D K Ravi.
