Center Prepares Legislation For Auction Plan Of Coal : Piyush Goyal

The Central Government is drafting legislation for an auction plan of coal in addition in other valuable mine products found in the coal blocks for giving them on lease in the country, the Lok Sabha was informed Thursday.
In a written reply, Minister of Coal, Power, New and Renewable Energy Sources Piyush Goyal said allocation of 204 Coal Mines and Blocks (Special Provision) Act 2015 has been cancelled by the Supreme Court.
Goyal said the estimated revenue which would accrue to coal bearing states from 29 coal mines auctioned so far during the life and mine lease period is Rs 1,93,512 crore.In addition, an estimated amount of Rs 1, 41, 854 crore would accrue to coal bearing states from allotment of 38 coal mines to Central and State PSUs.
