Cheque bounce case: Court to pass order against Vijay Mallya on May 9

A local court in Hyderabad has Thursday posted its verdict in the cheque bounce case against liquor baron Vijay Mallya, to May 9.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) had filed petitions in the court seeking Mallya’s prosecution for defaulting on payments and cheating them by allegedly issuing cheques that bounced.

On April 21, the local court convicted Mallya in the case. The court, however, did not pronounce the quantum of punishment today as Mallya did not appear before the court.
