Congress Appoints 5 New PCC Chiefs

Congress leader Ajay Maken Monday took over the charge of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Chief.
Talking to media, Maken said his first role is to strengthen party and second is to play role of effective and vigilant opposition.
He said he has respect for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal but said the AAP leader should perform as Chief Minister and not look for excuses for non-performance.
A party release said Congress President Sonia Gandhi has appointed five new Pradesh Congress Committee Presidents and one Regional Congress Committee President with immediate effect.
Ashok Chavan has been appointed the new PCC President in Maharashtra, Ghulam Ahmed Mir in Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatsinh Solanki in Gujarat and Uttar Reddy in Telangana. Sanjay Nirupam has been appointed President of Mumbai Regional Congress Committee.
