Congress Demands Resignation Of Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh Over Alleged PDS Scam

The Congress demanded resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh in the wake of reports on alleged PDS rice scam in the state and demanded a high-level judicial inquiry into the scandal. State Congress President Bhupesh Baghel raised the issue in the state assembly on Tuesday.

Taking note of the media report that named several government functionaries as alleged beneficiaries of the scam he asked the government to reveal the investigation details. Congress alleged that the documents seized by the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have the address and name of the CM’s wife, sister-in-law and personal secretary.

Earlier, the Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau raided the state Civil Supplies Corporation offices and reportedly recovered more than Rs. three crore.

The authorities also seized several documents that named many top functionaries of the state as the scam beneficiaries.
