Congress MLA Naba Das Suspended For A Week From Odisha Assembly For Allegedly Watching Porn Clip
15 December, Bhubaneswar
Congress MLA Naba Kishore Das, who was caught on a television camera for allegedly watching pornographic video on his mobile inside the Odisha Assembly during question hour, was Tuesday suspended for seven days by Speaker Niranjan Pujari.
The Opposition Congress and the BJP members, however, staged a walk out when the Speaker refused their request to reconsider the ruling.
The Opposition questioned the Speaker’s ruling stating how could the MLA be suspended from the House without any inquiry to verify the allegation.
The Speaker suspended the Congress legislator for seven days after government Chief Whip Ananta Das moved a motion appealing to the Speaker to suspend the Congress MLA from the House for seven days for allegedly watching obscene videos in the House.
The motion was passed by a voice vote and the Speaker announced that Mr Das was suspended from the House for seven days. BM
