Country’s Covid Recovery Rate improves to 93.69 per cent

New Delhi, November 22:

With 45,209 new cases, the country’s total COVID-19 cases went up to 90,95,807. The Health Ministry said, with 501 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 1,33,227. The Recovery Rate has improved to 93.69 per cent today as the country registered 43,493 new recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the total recovered cases to 85,21,617.
 
The actual caseload currently comprises only 4.85 per cent of the total positive cases. Presently, total active cases stand at 4,40,962. According to the Health Ministry, 26 States and UTs have less than 20,000 active cases, as on date. Seven States and UTs have active cases between 20 to 50 thousand whereas Maharashtra and Kerala are reporting more than 50 thousand caseload.
 
77.68 per cent of the new recovered cases is contributed by ten States and UTs. Delhi saw 6,963 persons recover from COVID. Kerala reported 6,719 and Maharashtra reported 4,088 new recoveries. 22.16 per cent of new fatalities reported are from Delhi which reported 111 deaths. Maharashtra saw a fatality count of 62 while West Bengal reported another 53.
 
ICMR said, a total of 13,17,33,134 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the country till yesterday. Of these, 10,75,326 samples were tested yesterday.
