Covid-19 vaccine trial among children of 12 to 18 yrs of age group begins in Nagpur

In Maharashtra, the Covid-19 vaccine trial among children of 12 to 18 years of age group began today in Nagpur.
 
AIR correspondent reports, Informing about the Vaccine Trial activity at Meditrina Hospital in Nagpur, Pediatrician and chief coordinator of this Vaccine trial programme, Dr. Vasant Khalatkar informed that, about 100 children were registered for the vaccine trial while 50 among them were screened and selected for administering the first dose of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin made for children.
 
The vaccine is being given by intramuscular mode to childrens.
 
He said the second dose of the vaccine will be given after 28 days and studies of the vaccine effects and antibody formation in children will be conducted in the course of six months.
