CPI Lays Seize Central Govt. Offices In Andhra Pradesh Protesting Central Neglect

The Communist Party of India (CPI) Wednesday lay seiged of all Central government offices in Andhra Pradesh protesting against the Union government’s stance towards the state.

The CPI demanded immediate sanction of special status to the Andhra Pradesh which was assured during the state reorganisation. The Left Party leaders also pointed at the Centre’s bipartisan attitude towards the state in the recent Finance and Railway budgets.

In Vijayawada, CPI leaders seized the Akashvani building chanting slogans against the Centre. However, they were evacuated promptly by the city police.

In Anantapur CPI cadres attacked Post Offices and Telephone Department and destroyed furniture and office automation. The police have arrested the State Secretary, Ramakrishna along with the party cadres.
