Delhi police arrests JNU student Sharjeel Imam from Jehanabad district of Bihar

Patna, January 28 :

JNU student Sharjeel Imam has been arrested from Jehanabad district of Bihar by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch.

He was arrested from Kako police station area of the district today. Sharjeel has been  booked in sedition cases lodged across several states for alleged inflammatory speeches made during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. He hails from Jehanabad.

Later, he was produced before a local court of Jehanabad this evening which handed him over to a Delhi police team on transit remand.
