Dharamsala Test: India 248/6 at stumps on day 2, in reply to Australia’s 300

India were 248/6 after 91 overs in their first innings on day two of the fourth and final test, in reply to Australia’s 300 here Sunday.India trail by 52 runs with 4 wickets remaining in the first innings.
The match has become intense as both the teams will try their best to gain lead.Ravindra Jadeja and Wriddhiman Saha were unbeaten on 16 and 10 respectively at stumps on day 2.While the Indian’s dominated the day one from the second session onwards, but it is Steve Smith and co, who will be happy at the end of day 2.
Spinner Nathan Lyon was the star bowler for the Australia after removing the Indian top order with six wickets.India were 64 runs when the wicket of opener Murli Vijay (11) in reply to Australia’s 300 at lunch on day 2 of the fourth Test at the HPCA stadium here this morning.The hosts started their innings on a slow note and received the first jolt when the scorecard was reading just 21 runs.
Josh Hazlewood striked in the 10th over to dismiss Vijay.Incoming batsman Cheteshwar Pujara then joined KL Rahul and the duo stiched a 43-run partnership to ensure that the hosts inch towards a good total.Earlier, the visitors were bundled out on 300 runs yesterday.Rahul and Pujara were unbeaten on 31 and 22 runs respectively when the umpires called for the lunch break.
Resuming the post-lunch session from 64/1, India added another 89 runs in the afternoon session to reach 153/2 at Tea-break. After the India batters added another 44 runs in the second session, pacer Pat Cummins sent back a well-settled KL Rahul (60) leaving the hosts at 108/2.After his dismissal, Cheteshwar Pujara was joined by skipper Ajinkya Rahane and the duo forged a 45-run partnership to take India past the 150-run mark.
Pujara also could not last long before being bowled out by Lyon at score of 57 after facing 151 balls hitting six fours.Rahane also lost his wicket to Lyon at score of 46 hitting seven fours and a six.Nair fell cheaply for 5 while Ashwin added 30 runs after facing 49 balls hitting 4 fours before being lbw to Lyon.
