Direction Of Modi Government Right: Advani
22 November,Ahmedabad
Veteran BJP leader L K Advani, a prominent member of the party margdarshak mandal, who had opened a ‘front of sorts’ against Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Bihar poll debacle Sunday strongly defended him saying the direction of the Modi government was right.
Talking to newsmen after casting his vote in the local body polls at a booth in Khanpur locality here, Advani said, “a system takes time to work properly. As the direction of the government was right, the results would certainly be good.”
The veteran leader was replying to a query that despite the promises of ‘good days’ by the Prime Minister before the Loksabha polls, the price rise was virtually uncontrolled with price of pulses touching Rs 200 a kg.
On being asked what kind of results does he expect in the Gujarat local polls in the backdrop of recent debacle of the party in Bihar assembly polls, Advani said, “the partymen have become more alert and tightened their laces so that nothing is left to be desired.”
He said earlier under the leadership of Narendra bhai, the party performed quite well in the assembly and general polls. “I will be pleased to see similar results in the local polls as well,” the BJP leader said.
Advani, also an MP from the Gandhinagar Loksabha constituency in the state, hailed the provision of 50 per cent reservation for women in the local polls and permission for the MPs to cast vote. “I am happy to get a chance to vote amid all these changes,” he said.
