ECIL to Introduce Robotic Program in 500 Schools Across TN

The State-owned Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) would implement robotics program in 500 schools across Tamil Nadu.

With increasing significance of robotics and rising application of robotic technology in everyday life, the ECIL would implement an advanced robotic program — TEK Robot — in more than 500 schools across the State by partnering with TEK Wizard.

TEK Robot was a six level program on “Enterprising Technology” to impart children with confidence, self esteem, leadership and skills of team building, public speaking, documenting and designing. Each level was spread over one academic year comprising 20 topics.

Students will take up evaluation for EC Robotics program and would be given a certificate by the ECIL at every level.

“At the end of level-4 students will be certified with a diploma and on completion of the level-6 will be given an advanced diploma. The course is economical and is open for children aged from eight to 14 years”, TEK Wizard CEO Dr Paul Winston told reporters here Thursday .

TEK Robot was an initiative from ECIL to maneouver the children of today into “TEK BIZKRATS” to be a potential part of Vision 2020 of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam.

“TEK Robot” program was designed by Academicians and Professionals in Robotics Research as per the committee guidelines and was lab tested with students belonging to varied age group and academic streams.

After testing the program in six schools that follows diverse syllabuses across Tamil Nadu”, he said. Ms M U Sudha Mayi, Senior manager, ECIL said “TEK Robot project will generate 20 million Robotic Inventors, Innovators, Entrepreneurs for the world in 2020”.
