England beat New Zealand by 87 runs in ICC Champions Trophy

England defeated Zealand by 87 runs to become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy match at Cardiff in England Tuesday.

Chasing a England’s 311 runs target, New Zealand were all out on 223 in 44.3 overs. For Kiwis, Kane Williamson contributed maximum 87 runs while Ross Taylor with 39 was the second highest scorer. For the hosts, Liam Plunkett bagged 4 wickets spending 55 runs.

Earlier, Sent to bat, England were all out for 310 in 49.3 overs. English middle order batsmen played to their potential. While Joe Root was top scorer with 64 runs, Jose Buttler remained not out on 61. A Hales contributed 56 and B Stokes 48 runs. For the Kiwis Milne and Anderson captured three wickets each.
