Farmers Above 60 Years Of Age May Get Rs.5000 Pension Per Month : PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday said the government has prepared a pension scheme for farmers who are above 60 years of age.
Speaking at a function in Punjab, he said the farmers can avail of its benefit and may get five thousand rupees pension every month.. Modi also talked about Pardhanmantri Krishi Sinchaee Yojna, Soil Health Card and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
He said by 2022, when India completes its 75 years of Independence; Amrit Parv, will be celebrated and it will be made sure that every one in the country should have a house to live.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister led the nation in paying homage to the great Martyrs’ Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukh Dev at their memorials in Hussainiwala in Punjab’s frontier district of Ferozepur. The last rites of the three great freedom fighters were performed in Hussainiwala on March 23, 1931.
He also paid tributes at the memorial of Bhagat Singh’s mother, Vidyawatiji and another martyr of the freedom struggle B.K.Dutt. Addressing the gathering in this border district of Punjab, Prime Minister said whatever can be done for the fulfillment of the dreams of these martyrs can never be enough. He said Bhagat Singh’s name has the strength to inspire so many people to live and die for the nation.
Modi said his government’s dream is to make Sujlam – Sukhlam India. Praising the agrarian state for filling the godowns of the country with food grains, he said the country has to succeed, if farmers should be taken care of.
. Modi, who visited Punjab for the first time after becoming the Prime Minister, said corruption during previous government has destroyed the country but now the new government has taken steps to curtail it.
He called upon the people also to do their duties for making the country corruption free. He said country cannot be strengthened without strengthening the states that is why more funds are being made available to states.
Accompanied by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Food Processing Minister, Harsimarat Kaur Badal, the Prime Minister showed concern about the extensive use of fertilizers in the state and depleting water table. He called upon the farmers to make use of the scientific methods for irrigation and use less water for farming.
Modi is the second Prime Minister after Rajiv Gandhi, who visited Hussainiwala in 1985. Later, the Prime Minister paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and Durgiana Mandir in Amritsar. He also visited Jallianwala Bagh to pay homage to all those martyrs who were massacred by the British government here in 1919.
Attacking the previous Congress-led government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that coal scam, which was pegged at 1.76 lakh crore rupees, could be much more bigger.
Modi also said that the present regime led by him had garnered a revenue of two lakh crore rupees in bids from the auction of 20 blocks only out of total 204 blocks. Addressing a gathering at the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, he said corruption has destroyed the country.
