First Indo-Nepal Friendship Motor Rally to Kick Off from Puri on Feb 27

The First Indo-Nepal friendship motor rally scheduled to kick off on February 27 from Puri will conclude at India Gate on March 8.
Organised by the Kalinga Motors Sports Club in association with Nepal Automobile Sports Association (NASA), the rally would cover 3100 KM in ten days in India and Nepal.
Kalinga Motors Sports Club General Secretary Ramesh Mohapatra said the rally would give tremendous impetus to spiritual and adventurous tourism and would help to achieve a new milestone in bilateral relationship between both India and Nepal.
As many as 40 teams comprising 120 participants including retired Army General, senior bureaucrats, politicians, motor rally veterans in 30 vehicles would participate in the rally. The rally would be headed by former Odisha Minister Praveen Chandra Bhanjadeo.
The rally would start from Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath and touch important places of Buddhism like Dhauli Shanti Stupa, Bodha Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda,Pataliputra and Lumbini, the birth place of Sakyamuni-Sidhartha, the Goutam Buddha. Starting from Puri, the rally would pass through Dhauli, Bhubaneswar, Baripda,Rairangapur,Jamshedpur,Ranchi,Bodhgaya, Rajgir,Bakhtiyarpur,Patna,Muzzafarpur,Forbesganj,Jogbani, Biratnagar,Dharan, Bardibas,Dhulikhel, Kathamandu,Pokhara, Lumbini, Dhangadi and reach New Delhi.
In the entire route, the participants would create awareness about road safety and tell people what to do and what not while using the road.
The rally would start from Puri on February 27 in the presence of Odisha Minister for Urban Development Puspendra Singdeo, Minister for Tourism Ashok Chandra Panda and local MLA Maheswar Mohanty. On the next day Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to flag off the rally at Bhubaneswar.
Mohapatra said on the concluding day, Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan,Road Safety Ambassador for the Union government Bollywood film star Amir Khan are scheduled to grace the flag in ceremony.
