Former BJD MLA Sidharth Singh Joins BJP With Supporters

Former BJD MLA Sidharta Sekhar Singh Saturday joined the BJP with several of his supporters, including former sarpanches, ward member and councilors.

BJP state unit president Basant Panda, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, former MP Rudra Madhab Ray and former minister Samir Dey senior party leader Bishwa Bhushan Harichandan, who were present at the joining function welcomed Mr Singh and his supporters to the party.

Singh, former BJD MLA from Khandpada, said he chose to join the BJP as he was influenced by the vision of Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi and his slogan Sabka sath, sabka vikash. He said he would try his best to take forward the welfare programmes launched by the Prime Minister to the people and work to strengthen the party at the grass root level in Khandpada constituency.

The BJP would come victorious in the coming Panchayat and general election in Khandpada, Singh asserted.

Singh, who was denied BJD ticket to contest the 2014 Assembly elections, had resigned from the primary membership of the party on January 3 last. The former BJD MLA alleged that he was being ignored and neglected by the party though he had worked his best for strengthening the BJD even though he was denied party ticket in the last Assembly election.
