Four killed as Bengaluru – Ernakulam City Express derails near Anekala Road in Karnataka

The Ernakulam-bound Inter-city express caught fire after derailment near Anekal Road near Bengaluru in Karnataka Friday morning.
Divisional Railway Manager Anil Kumar Agarwal said that eight to 10 bogies have derailed and preliminary reports suggest that four people have been killed and 10 injured.
He said, the injured have been shifted to hospital and arrangements being made for onward journey of passengers stranded at the accident site. The train had departed from Bangalore City Railway Station about an hour prior to the accident.
An Eyewitness said, the locomotive caught fire and the passengers might be trapped in the mangled bogies and unable to leave the wreckage. About six ambulances have been rushed to the spot.
