Fresh Rain And Snow Fall In J&K: Jammu-Srinagar NH Closed Again
08 March ,Srinagar
In view of fresh landslides triggered by rains and snowfall Saturday night, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been again closed for vehicular traffic.
According to traffic police sources, the road has been blocked due to landslides at many places. The arterial road, the only surface link between Kashmir valley and rest of the world, after remaining closed for consecutive five days was yesterday opened for one way traffic.
The Kashmir bound vehicles almost were cleared off the road yesterday. The men and machinery of BRO are continuously working for removing the debris from the highway.
However, according to Met Department heavy rain and snowfall is expected at several places in the State during the next few days which may hamper the work of road clearance.
Meanwhile, several link roads in Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, Ramban and Doda areas are still blocked.
