Gadkari Invites Political Parties, Social Activists For Open Debate Over Land Bill

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has invited political parties and social activists for an open debate on any aspect of the Land Acquisition Amendment Bill.

An official release said, Gadkari has written a letter to leaders of various political parties, as well as social activists, explaining the positive aspects of the Bill.

The Minister said that the Bill is in the interest of farmers and the government has addressed all the concerns raised by the farming community and the parties.

He said, States are free to enact their own legislation, if they are not satisfied with the Central Bill.
The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Bill 2015 has already been passed in Lok Sabha.
