Govt. of India To Launch Pilot Projects In 100 TB Prone Districts Soon

The Government of India will soon launch a pilot project in one hundred Tuberculosis prone districts of the country to eradicate the disease.

On the sidelines of a function on the occasion of World TB Day In Delhi Tuesday Director General Health Services, Dr Jagdish Prasad said, the project is aimed at providing daily dosages of medicines free of cost to the patients to fully cure them.

He said, the government wants to target those patients who do not follow the treatment schedule regularly due to financial problems.

Earlier, speaking at the function organised on the World TB Day , Health Minister J P Nadda said that there will be no financial constraints to the TB control programmes.

He also sought cooperation of all the stakeholders in formulating policies to effectively deal with all types of diseases.

Nadda said, the Revised National TB Control Programme, RNTCP has led to the significant reduction in cases of Tuberculosis. On the occasion, the Health Minister also released the annual status report 2015 of RNTCP in which a comprehensive status of TB control activities have been compiled.
