Govt. Plans To Take Digital Literacy To Atleast 50%In Next 3 Years : Prasad

Government has plans to take digital literacy to atleast 50 per cent from the current level of 15 per cent in the next three years.

Telecom and Information Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad said 100 per cent digital literacy is needed to make India a truly digitalized society.

He was speaking at a function in New Delhi Thursday to award winners of Digital India Week’s Online Quiz Competition on Cyber Safety and Cyber Awareness.

Mr Prasad said the world is keenly watching developments in India and it is the responsibility of the youth to come up to expectations.

He said more than four thousand innovators have come to explore possibilities in the fields of IT and electronic manufacturing in the country.

Prior to the award function in the morning, a workshop on Cyber Safety and Cyber Awareness for school children was also conducted, wherein students were sensitized on Cyber Safety.
