Gujarat Court Orders Release And Deportation Of Seven Pakistani Boys

A Jamnagar juvenile court in Gujarat has ordered the release and deportation of seven Pakistani boys.

These boys were caught in 2013 while illegally trespassing into the Indian waters.

Chief Judicial Magistrate in Jamnagar A. M. Vaishnav has ordered the release of seven boys from Saurashtra zone observation home in Rajkot.

According to Social Defense Officer at Rajkot, Kanaksinh Jhala, Pakistani boys in the age group of 13 to 17 years were apprehended along with other Pakistani fishermen from the Arabian Sea. He said that Jamnagar Chief Judicial Magistrate has directed to initiate the process to release the seven boys kept in Rajkot observation home.

The boys were facing charges under the Indian Maritime Zone Act for trespassing into the Indian territorial waters. AIR correspondent reports that the court’s direction came after the two countries reached an agreement for releasing the minor boys who were caught along with their elders.

Both the countries have completed the process of identity verification of the boys before taking the decision to release them. The deportation process will be conducted by tomorrow.
