HALs Upgraded Heritage Center Opened

Public Sector aircraft maker Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (hal) opened its upgraded Heritage centre, which was unveiled by Union Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh here Saturday.

Established in 2001, this first of its kind aero-museum is situated at a sprawling 10-acre area on the Old HAL Airport Road in the city.

The Museum houses rare photos from the 1940s, aircraft models that take the visitor on an exciting journey through the Heritage of Aerospace and Aviation Industry in India. There are also true motion simulators that put visitors in the pilots seat, offering a thrilling flight experiences.

Singh said HAL’s efforts efforts in preserving the rich heritage of the countrys aviation history for the benefit of future generations.

The union minister also digitally inaugurated HALs upgraded Heritage Centers and Aerospace Museum at Koraput (Odisha), Korwa(U.P.) and Nashik (Maharashtra) and launched a web portal www.halmuseum.in.

Speaking on the occasion, R V Deshpande, Karnataka Minister forLarge and Medium Scale Industries and Tourism said the HAL Heritage Center and Aerospace Museum would now be counted as one of Karnatakas tourism spots in the city.

T Suvarna Raju, CMD, HAL said more airplane models would be added to the aerospace museum which has seen renovation in many areas such as water-walls, fish pond, cafeteria and other facilities, a HAL release said here today.
