Harish Rawat to return as CM;Cabinet recommends revocation of President’s rule

Congress has won the floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly. The Supreme Court today declared that Harish Rawat got 33 votes out of 61 in the Assembly. The apex court said Rawat will assume office as Chief Minister after President’s rule is revoked.
The court said no irregularities were found in the voting. The result of the trust vote was handed over to the Supreme Court in a sealed cover early today along with video recording of the proceedings in the State Assembly.
President’s Rule has been revoked in Uttarakhand. The Union Cabinet took the decision after Supreme Court declared that Congress has won the floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly.
The decision to revoke the President’s rule in Uttarakhand has created an atmosphere of jubiliation in state Congress camp. The Congress has stated it is a victory of democracy.
Harish Rawat welcomed the decision of revoking President Rule in Uttrakahand by the Central Government. Addressing Press Conference Rawat said the decision of the Apex court generated the confidence among the public in judicial system of the Country.
Meeting with the media persons in Dehradun, he said the decision of the Apex court generated the level of confidence among the public in judicial system. He stated that the decision of the court should not be viewed as a matter of victory or defeat. He also said that the Center,s assistance in development work of the state is highly essential and rejected the possibility of mid-term election in the State.
Answering the question related to CBI summon, Rawat stated that he will cooperate CBI in the investigation on alleged Horse trading sting CD. On the other hand BJP State President Ajay Bhatt has said that the congress has failed in its attempt to regroup its MLAs and stated that the recent political development in the state will have no impact on the existing strength of BJP MLAs in the assembly.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has said democracy has won in Uttarakhand. In a series of tweets, Gandhi said, the party did its best while BJP did their worst. He said, it is a lesson for all, that people of the country and institutions built by its founding fathers will not tolerate murder of democracy
