HC stays transfer of ED Official probing Minister in drug racket case

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the implementation of transfer orders of Assistant Director of Enforcement Directorate, Jalandhar, Niranjan Singh. The Court has summoned all records regarding transfer of the officer.

A High Court Bench headed by Justice SK Mittal ordered the stay while hearing the drug racket case. An organisation, Lawyers for Human Rights has filed a case regarding transfer of Niranjan Singh as he is investigating the drug racket case in which Punjab Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate.
Niranjan Singh was transferred to Kolkata a few days back. The Court has fixed next hearing in this case on the 2nd of February.
