Healthier Hearts Foundation’ s financial aid to patient

11 March, Hyderabad

The Healthier Hearts Foundation has extended financial assistance to a poor woman from Old City who was suffering from Umbilical Hernia.

According to HHF Chairman Dr. Mohammed Fareed, the patient, Mehraj Fatima, a resident of Talab Katta, had approached the Foundation seeking assistance for her surgery.

She was suffering Umbilical Hernia for the last six months and needed surgery.

She belongs to the economically weaker section and her husband Mohammed Maqbool is an auto-rickshaw driver. She was unable to arrange funds for the Umbilical Hernia surgery, which is not covered by any government scheme.

The Foundation has accepted her request and arranged Rs. 55,000 financial assistance through TSCBOA President Syed Nizamuddin.

Although the surgery costs around Rs. 1 lakh, the Max Cure Hospital at Madhapur charged only Rs. 55,000 in view of patient’s poor background.

The surgery was successfully conducted by senior surgeon Dr. Nagender Prasad on March 8 and she is recovering well.

The family of Mehraj Fatima has thanked the Foundation and Max Cure Hospital for their help.
