Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates All India Police Science Congress in Bhopal

Bhopal, April 22

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, coordination and cooperation between the Police systems of all the states is necessary for smart policing.

Addressing the 48th All India Police Science Congress organized by the Bureau of Police Research and Development today at the Central Police Training Academy, Bhopal, Mr Shah said, there is a need for a knowledge-based, evidence-based and a rational police system in the country, only then the crimes of the new era can be dealt with effectively.

The Union Home Minister said that new dimensions like cybercrime and narcotics have been added to the world of crime, so even after being a state subject, there should be coordination and uniformity among the police personnel of all the states.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also addressed the programme.

The Home and Cooperation Minister will also attend the Conference of Forest Committees and Dividend Distribution Programme to the Tendupatta collectors at Jamboori Maidan in Bhopal this afternoon.

Mr Shah will also start the process of transformation from forest village to revenue village. The programme will be broadcast through a webcast in more than 15 thousand villages in the state.
