Home Minister Amit Shah launches Vibrant Villages Program in Arunachal Pradesh

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah launched the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ in Kibithoo, a border village in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.
This is India’s easternmost place. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shah said, the entire country can sleep peacefully in their homes today because ITBP jawans and Army is working day and night on our borders. He said, today, we can proudly say that no one has the power to cast an evil eye on us. The Union Home Minister is on a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh from Monday.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government has approved the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ with Central components of forty-eight hundred crore rupees including 25 hundred crore rupees exclusively for road connectivity.
Under the Programme, 2967 villages in 46 blocks of 19 districts abutting the northern border in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territories of Ladakh have been identified for comprehensive development. In the first phase, 662 villages have been identified for priority coverage, which includes 455 villages in Arunachal Pradesh.
