I Have No Craze For Hollywood: Salman Khan

At a time when several actors like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mallika Sherawat and Irrfan Khan are making a mark for themselves in the West , Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has said he is not crazy about Hollywood.

”I like to work in India a lot and I like to deliver dialogues in Hindi. Suddenly, after Hindi dialogues since so many years, if I say dialogues in English, it would look a bit weird on me. Im very happy here,” Salman said when asked if, like many of his industry colleagues, was he interested in Hollywood.

While not ruling out working in Hollywood, Salman said, ”If it is a film related to us Indians, I might do it. However, I dont have any interest or craze for it.”

Salman, who is currently basking in the success of his latest film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which has earned nearly Rs 150 crore in India in the first five days, said having earned so much respect in Bollywood already, he does not want to start from scratch in Hollywood.

”They work extremely hard but we dont need to work that hard here. Ill have to establish respect again. When Im already receiving so much respect here then why? We work for respect, its taken so many years to earn that respect here, so I dont see any point (in working in Hollywood),” Salman said .

The actor said he personally feels that rather than going to Hollywood, there was a need to take Bollywood films to the level of Hollywood.

”The Hindi film industry should grow so much that there should not be any comparison between them and us. Our film has broken the records of films there and that is a moment of joy for everyone. And thats what we want, that everyone should be happy,” he said.

Released on Diwali on nearly 5000 cinema screens across India, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, has earned Rs 143 crore in its first five days.

Directed by Sooraj Barjatya,, the film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Swara Bhaskar in key roles.
