IMD says, South-West monsoon has set in over Kerala

India Meteorological Department has said that the South-West monsoon has set in over Kerala today. IMD has said that Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some parts of the South Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep, southwest Bay of Bengal and southern part of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
IMD has projected that the South-West monsoon is likely to advance into remaining parts of Kerala, Lakshadweep, some more parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, some parts of coastal areas of Karnataka and Rayalaseema during the next two days.
Recently IMD has projected that Southwest monsoon seasonal rainfall over the country as a whole is most likely to be normal this year. It had said that Monsoon rainfall over the country is likely to be 101 per cent of the Long Period Average between the months of June to September this year.
