Inaugural batch of pilgrims for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026 flagged off from New Delhi

New Delhi, June 13
The inaugural batch of pilgrims undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026 was flagged off from New Delhi yesterday. Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, presided over the flagging-off ceremony. The External Affairs Ministry said in a statement that the first batch will be travelling via Nathu La route and will commence their onward journey from Delhi on 15th June 2026.

The Minister of State congratulated the yatris on their selection and informed them that their accommodation will be provided at new acclimatisation centres recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr Margherita acknowledged the ceaseless efforts of various Government Ministries, Departments, State Governments of Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh, who have been striving to provide an enriching and fulfilling experience to the people who undertake this pilgrimage.
