India administers 86.16 lakh vaccine doses on Tuesday, highest ever single day vaccination achieved in world so far
New Delhi, June 22
India has administered 86.16 lakh vaccine doses in a single day. The Health Ministry said this is the highest ever single day vaccination achieved in the world so far.
Over 29.40 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
The Union Health Ministry said, vaccination is an integral pillar of the comprehensive strategy of the Government for containment and management of the pandemic, along with Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
Since yesterday, the Centre has started the largest free vaccination campaign in the world where 75 per cent of the total vaccine cleared by the Central Drug Lab in the country is being supplied completely free of cost to all the States & the Union Territories. Under the new policy, procurement and funding for vaccination at all government facilities in every State and Union Territory to beneficiaries of all age group will be done by the Centre.
India reported 42,640 new cases in the last 24 hours. This is less than 50 thousand in 91 days. India’s active caseload declined to 6,62,521.
There have been over 2,89,26,000 total recoveries across the country so far. A total of 81 thousand 839 patients recovered during last 24 hours.
