India assures all possible assistance to Nepal for rescue and relief operations
New Delhi, August 26
President Droupadi Murmu has conveyed sympathies to Nepalese President Ramchandra Paudel and the people of Nepal on the devastation caused by the flash floods today.
In a social media post, the President expressed solidarity with Nepal at this difficult hour. President Murmu said that India stands ready to support the relief and rescue efforts of the Nepal Government for those affected by this calamity.
Vice President CP Radhakrishnan today expressed grief over the loss of lives and devastation caused by the flash floods in Nepal.
In a social media post, Mr Radhakrishnan conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. He also prayed for the safe and swift rescue of all those who are missing. Mr Radhakrishnan said that the thoughts of the people of India are with the people of Nepal during this difficult hour.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to his Nepalese counterpart Balendra Shah and conveyed condolences on the loss of lives due to the floods in Nepal.
In a social media post, Mr Modi said, the people of India stand in solidarity with their sisters and brothers in Nepal at this difficult time. He said, India is ready to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to Nepal. The Prime Minister said, our teams are coordinating closely on rescue and relief efforts.
