India, South Africa 2nd Test Ends In Draw As Match Called Off Due To Rain

The second test match between India andSouth Africa, which was marred by rain, ended in a tame draw with umpires calling off the final day’s play at M Chinnaswamy stadiumhere Wednesday.

It was a record in Indian cricket history that four days of playwas washed out in a test match.

On the opening day, the only day on which play was possible,India had seized the initiative, bundling out South Africa for 214and in reply, had made 80 for no wicket with Murali Vijay remained unbeatenwith 28 and Shikhar Dhawan was not out with 45.

From second day onwards, it was wet for the reminder of thematch, as city experienced continuous rain under the influence of lowpressure area over Bay of Bengal that has caused a havoc in North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh.
